What are some great murder mystery games for parties?

You can do a “Who done it” type of Mystery! Pick a few people to be on the murder but its important not to tell anybody else about it either. So have a person you picked to turn out the lights people might scream and get worried but have the other person you picked to fall down when the lights get turned off. Then after 5 or 10 seconds later have the person turn the lights back. Then you can say OMG! SOMEBODY KILLED” the name of the person you picked here” Then the murder case begins. People can accuse someone, You can tell them to look at people who seems suspicious. And the person who guesses the person who killed the person you picked they can get a rewards like alot of candy or something. Oh and have the “dead” person wake up too.

well i know a board game and a real game.
The board game is Clue
And the real game is Detective:
Heres how u play,
You get all your friends in little circle, then you pick 1 detective and make that person stand in a corner or a place where he/she cant see whats happening back in the circle. Then without talking(so the detective cant hear) the group has to decide on 1 murderer. Then tell the detective to come back. for the murderer to win the game he/she has to “kill” all the people in the circle by blinking twice at a person in the circle. Then the person who is being murdered counts to 10 then pretends to die(my friends make it really dramatic like they pretend to have a heartattack or something). but the only way to save all the people is if the detective finds out who the murderer is. The detective gets 3 chances to guess.

We just did a murder mystery called Next Of Kin for my husband’s 50th birthday party. I bought it here:http://www.murder-mystery-game.com/murder-mystery-games.html. There are 2 versions of the game that you get with your purchase and we did the narrator version. We pretended that “Big Daddy Sugarbaker” – one of the suspects in the mystery – threw this party for my hubby. We all had so much fun and my husband is still talking about the party. I can’t remember when he laughed so hard (me either for that matter). Oh, I downloaded a script sample before I bought the game and it helped me:. I was so nervous to pull off something really special but I did it!

I think that is a cool idea, what I have learned is that coming up with your own idea, plot and dialogue for guests is hard.
You may want to try one that is already written and then you can everything out online. Here is one I have liked
