A popular teacher suddenly disappears. A substitute is brought in, but nobody will say what became of the teacher. A rumor starts that she was killed, or maybe committed suicide. Rumors claim she was sick, had AIDS, was pregnant, or ran off with a her student lover. A group of students decide to find out what happened to her. They go to her house, but there’s only an old man there who won’t tell them anything. They try the hospitals and the police, but get nowhere. They check the local funeral homes, and call nearby towns. Nobody knows anything, or at least they won’t say. Students hold an impromptu service for her at the school, and create a makeshift memorial. Angry letters from parents and community members appear in the local papers in response to the various rumors. Suddenly, the school, which had been struggling, gets a visit from a mysterious lawyer, who offers vast sums of money to address all of the school’s needs. Everyone is so excited they forget all about the missing teacher. An assembly is held to announce the gift to the community, and the teacher appears, revealing that she won the lottery, and can think of nothing better to do with the money than to help her school.

But the janitor actually killed (John,Mary,Betty or Ted) because they found out he was wanted in Louisianna for killing his own love triangled SAT cheater twenty years ago. The evidence was found in an old yearbook he keeps in his mop closet with a letter of confession he was too cowardly to hand in.
